Aritma150aBadge of the week ~ SK Aritma Prague, Czech Republic
This badge is an example of the horror, the artistic degradation that can result from compromise. The design team was split between two strong ideas for the image. Two of the team wanted a lion, rampant, and an owl, roosting. In the background was going to be a man searching for his spectacles. This would reflect the old Czech maxim, "At night, the owl roosts, the lion prowls, man searches for his spectacles" . This basically means that it is quite dark at night and was listed high in the recent Czech programme Worst Ever Old Czech Maxims, which had contributions from two of Goldie Looking Chain and Brigitte Nielsen.

The other strong idea was from the remaining three members of the design team - a man and a woman shaking hands next to a ladder. This was to reflect the status of the region in ladder production and how its biggest company (Lots Of Ladders) employed the first female chief ladder designer in 2002. Normally, a 3-2 split would mean the ladder idea won out but one of the three had a reputation for urinating all over the toilet seat. The compromise, to meet the deadline, was this. It is nothing. Nothing. Cameron Carter
