Randy Lerner sold up as Aston Villa owner this week, with a parting statement that seemed bewildering and badly thought out. So it's a pretty accurate summing up of his time in charge.

Brattvag150Badge of the week ~ Brattvag IL, Norway
Brattvag is an area of Norway renowned for its window cleaning. Historically, it has always had the best window cleaners working in the area and been at the cutting edge of breakthroughs in window cleaning techniques. There is not a window in the world so high, so difficult to gain access to, so rare in aspect that someone in Brattvag cannot clean it for you. It was a Brattvag man who turned up for work one morning with the first water-fed pole system, changing the face of window cleaning forever at a stroke. This was big news in Norway at the time but was bumped off the Finnish evening news by a late story of an elk found in a skip.

Brattvag was also home to the most infamous window cleaner of them all, Henk Gildersson, who terrorised the streets of Christiana for a decade with just a scraper, his signature leather double-holster and a grievance against people with window boxes. When you’re next in Brattvag, ask anyone at all there about window cleaning and they’ll be able to talk to you on the subject for hours. In fact, don’t mention window cleaning, that’s probably best. Cameron Carter
