Information on how we are dealing with the outbreak

Unfortunately we have been forced to suspend overseas subscriptions (except Ireland, which will continue as normal) due to each country having different import rules, and the reduction in the number of flights causing shipping costs to increase dramatically. Subscribers will continue to have free access to the digital archive, which includes the current issue. Once the situation improves we will restart your subscription, so you will still receive the same number of paper copies that you paid for.

WSC 399 went to press on May 6 and should be with UK subscribers and on the shelves week commencing May 11, although there are reports of postal delays. We'll keep you updated here and on social media.

We are operating with reduced staffing levels and are struggling to answer the phone at times. If possible please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Many of the shops that stock WSC have closed (we sell about a third of our newsagent copies through travel points) although we're trying to get more copies into local convenience stores.

The best way to guarantee your copy is to subscribe - it's cheaper too. If you're an existing subscriber, especially with an automated payment such as a standing order or direct debit, please don't cancel. Your subscription covers a number of issues, not a fixed time period, so if there is an interruption you'll get all the magazines you've paid for once everything gets back to normal. Subscriptions provide us with a vital income stream. All subscribers have free access to our full digital archive of every issue going back to 1986, and digital-only subs are available.

To help fill the time while you're at home we will continue to post out online orders of books and magazines. If you have children to entertain you can access pages from Kickaround magazine to help with reading, writing, geography, history or maths all with a football theme.

As in 2018 we scheduled 11 issues for 2020 to enable us to give the best coverage of Euro 2020. Although the tournament has been postponed (and we'd already started work on the wallchart) we will continue with the original schedule given the suspension of football. A full schedule for 2020, correct today, can be found here.

We will continue to produce the WSC podcast which has become very popular in the short time since its launch. The podcast is free but you can get bonus episodes (and other stuff) by joining the WSC Supporters' Club and help us out at the same time.

As ever, thank you for your continued support and, most importantly, stay safe everyone.
