Futbolgrad analyse opposing sides of the argument
25 January ~ Russia’s squad plans for Euro 2016 and their home World Cup in 2018 include naturalising certain players. As Saul Pope wrote in WSC 348, those under consideration include German defensive-midfielder Roman Neustädter and Lokomotiv Moscow’s Brazilian goalkeeper Guilherme. However, the issue is causing a debate throughout Russia about which players should play for the national team, or whether naturalisation should be accepted at all.
