23 June ~ Mexico face Croatia tonight knowing that a win or draw will see them progress past the group stage for a sixth World Cup in a row. They have played Croatia once before at a World Cup, in their opening group match of 2002. Then, a second-half penalty from Cuauhtémoc Blanco gave Mexico the three points. They went on to win the group that also contained Italy and Ecuador, but lost 2-0 to the US in the second round.
