Sean Dyche’s team could win the Championship at The Valley today


7 May ~ Charlton Athletic fans have pledged not to allow protests against their owners to disrupt Burnley’s Championship title challenge today. The Coaltion Against Roland Duchatelet (CARD) have congratulated Burnley on winning promotion back to the Premier League and have made it clear that they have no intention of preventing the completion of this match, nor will they be encouraging others to do so. They will, however, be organising protests for the day.

In a statement, CARD said: “We will respect the integrity of the competition and the ambitions of the visiting club. Given the level of anger about the situation at The Valley, we cannot speak for every Charlton supporter on this and we make no claim to do so. However, our aim is to destroy the regime wrecking our club, not the game itself. We hope this statement offers some reassurance to fans of Burnley, and indeed Brighton & Hove Albion and Middlesbrough, ahead of what we recognise to be an important weekend for their clubs.”
