Outgoing mayor Boris Johnson has called in planning application

Wimbledon12 April ~ AFC Wimbledon are asking fans to email their support for a new stadium in Merton to the London mayoral candidates Sadiq Khan and Zac Goldsmith. The move follows outgoing mayor Boris Johnson’s decision to “call in” the planning application for further scrutiny, despite it receiving unanimous approval from the local council. This means Johnson has effectively passed the decision on to his successor. The club want fans and anyone else who supports the application, particularly London residents, to email both candidates saying: “Please support AFC Wimbledon’s plans for a new stadium in Plough Lane.” You can find all the information you need to help here.
