THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

12 December ~ Sunderland welcome Watford to the Stadium of Light today hoping to build on their recent wins against Crystal Palace and Stoke. Victory could see the home side climb out of the relegation zone, but their opponents are mid-table in their first Premier League season since 2007. During their first ever top-flight campaign, in 1982-83, Watford recorded their record win, 8-0 against Sunderland. Luther Blissett got four of their goals, with Nigel Callaghan and Ross Jenkins scoring two each. The Hornets went on to finish second while Sunderland ended up 16th. Highlights are below, though the camera is a little shaky and the operator seems strangely obsessed with filming the scoreboard.
