icon monday6 August ~ Rangers have become the latest British club to ban journalists, after telling Times columnist Graham Spiers and the BBC’s Chris McLaughlin to stay away from Ibrox. The club, who also banned the Daily Record in February this year, took the decision after McLaughlin led a match report with the news that supporters had been arrested. Spiers says he has not been told why he has been banned. In response, the BBC will boycott Ibrox by not sending journalists to matches or press conferences, though they will still report on the club. Press Gazette have the full story of the bans.
