Gala150Badge of the week ~ Gala Fairydean Rovers, Scotland
There’s something of the Nativity Story in this badge. Two critters stop their foraging on the forest floor to gaze in awe upon a bright football in the night sky. Perhaps the bright football in the sky has a message for them about the advent of something portentous but when one googles “Beavers + Awe & Wonder” one gets – well, there’s a lot of irrelevant stuff to sort through.

It must be a little shy-making for a football team to have a name like a rock star’s daughter, but Gala Fairydean have evidently embraced this and settled on a woodland fairytale mood in their iconography. This is one of the more winsome badges on the circuit and, while perfectly lovely to look upon, is perhaps lacking in menace. Cameron Carter
