8 July ~ Despite competing in all but two World Cups together – Germany didn't enter the first in 1930 and were banned in 1950 – tonight's semi-final will be only the second meeting between Brazil and Germany in the competition. Their first was the 2002 final in Yokohama, Japan, when a double from Ronaldo was enough for Brazil to win their fifth title.
