THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

5 July ~ Argentina play Belgium tonight in the World Cup quarter-finals, the third time they will have met in the competition. Belgium won the first, a group match in 1982, 1-0 after a goal from Erwin Vandenbergh. However, the biggest match between the two came in Mexico four years later, when over 114,000 people packed in to the Azteca stadium to watch their semi-final. Diego Maradona scored both goals as Argentina advanced to the final, where they beat West Germany 3-2.
