THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

30 June ~ Algeria play in the second round of a World Cup tonight for the first time in their history. They will face Germany, bringing back memories of their first ever appearance at the tournament in 1982. Then they beat West Germany 2-1 in their opening group match, before losing to Austria and beating Chile. The set of results meant that once West Germany had gone 1-0 up against Austria early in their final game, they could play the match out and both go through. Below are highlights of Algeria's win over West Germany, including goals from Rabah Madjer, who later played for Valencia and Porto, and Lakhdar Belloumi.
