THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

20 June ~ Honduras' 3-0 defeat against France last week means they go into the match against Ecuador looking to score their first goal at a World Cup since 1982. Then, in a tight group they managed a 1-1 draw with hosts Spain and repeated the scoreline against eventual group winners Northern Ireland. Eduardo Laing's 60th-minute header was the last time they would score, as a 1-0 defeat to Yugoslavia in the final match, courtesy of an 88th-minute penalty, left Honduras bottom of the group.
