THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

25 May ~ Leyton Orient head into today's League One play-off final against Rotherham hoping to reach England's second tier for the first time since 1981-82. They have been in League One since gaining promotion from League Two in dramatic fashion on the last day of the 2005-06 season. Before the final game against relegation-threatened Oxford, Orient occupied the final promotion spot, one point ahead of Grimsby who were playing already-promoted Northampton. With Grimsby leading and Orient drawing it looked like the O's would miss out, until news filtered through about a goal at Blundell Park and everything changed.
