English FA considering their introduction

icon appeal17 May ~ Today the FA will be considering proposals for the introduction of a new competition for Premier League and Championship clubs' B teams. The plans form part of FA chairman Greg Dyke's commission looking at ways to improve the fortunes of England's national team. Ideas include fitting the competition between League Two and the Conference or merging the lower divisions to create regional leagues. Commission members are said to have looked at Germany's model among others for their ideas but, as Paul Joyce pointed out in WSC 240, February 2007, the Bundesliga B teams are damaging lower-league clubs in the country.
