THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

28 April ~ During last night's Villarreal v Barcelona match a banana was thrown at Dani Alves when he was about to take a corner. The Barça full-back's response to the racism was to pick up the banana, peel it and eat it. He later said: "I'm in Spain for 11 years now and it happens since the start. You have to laugh at them, I don't know who threw the banana but I want to thank him. It gave me energy to give two more crosses that ended up in goal."
