Galatasaray v Fenerbahce from WSC 115

icon japanball6 April ~ Galatasaray host Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig today hoping to close the ten-point gap to their rivals at the top of the table. The match brings back memories of Graeme Souness's chaotic season at Galatasaray in 1995-96. Having brought in the likes of Dean Saunders and Barry Venison, Galatasary struggled in the league, with the press criticising the manager and his signings. The most controversial moment came when Souness, after his team win the cup at Fenerbahce, planted a Galatasaray flag on the centre spot, nearly causing a riot. In WSC 115, from September 1996, David O'Byrne recalled the frantic season.
