14 March ~ Tottenham go into this Sunday's north-London derby with Arsenal looking to keep in touch with their rivals in the chase for a Champions League place. However, in 1978 Spurs had just returned to the top flight after a one-season absence. Having signed Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa, they were in mid-table and faced Arsenal at White Hart Lane on December 23. In the end the visitors dominated, with Terry Neill's side winning 5-0, with Liam Brady in particularly good form.
