From WSC 144, February 1999

icon facup226 January ~ The draw for the FA Cup fifth round takes place live on ITV today following Chelsea's tie with Stoke City. Alongside Andros Townsend and his father Troy, who are making the draw, will be the FA Cup trophy itself. But is it the real FA Cup? And who has the job of getting it there and making sure it is safe? In WSC 144, February 1999, contributor Tony Christie wrote about his encounter with the Keeper of the Cup at Doctor Pit Welfare Park in Bedlington, and how the trophy travels around the country, via Travelodges to Little Chefs, in a plain box. It's a full-time position, as the Keeper explained to Tony.
