THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

Previously written articles for WSC

icon monday3 December ~ The Guardian's David Conn won Sports Journalist of the Year at the 2013 Press Gazette British Journalism awards last night. Over the years David has written a number of pieces for WSC, including an article from January 1998 on how a new breed of club chairmen were affecting the game. When Sheikh Mansour took over at Manchester City, the club David supports, he looked back at a previous takeover – when Francis Lee ousted Peter Swales at Maine Road in 1994 – and wondered if fan loyalty was being exploited. WSC also reviewed David's latest book, Richer Than God.
