THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

23 August ~ Ipswich Town host Leeds United this weekend with both clubs having made mixed starts to their Championship seasons, as they struggle to return to England's top flight. Almost 40 years ago the two teams met at Elland Road as two of the best in the country. Ipswich would finish fourth for a second year in a row but Leeds would mark Don Revie's final season in charge with the title. This 3-2 victory over Ipswich virtually sealed the championship, with second-place Liverpool only managing a 0-0 draw against Everton on the same day.
