15 August ~ Football has an uneasy relationship with mental illness. Although in recent years a range of ex-professionals have revealed the depression the demands of the game triggered in them – helping to tackle what some still consider a taboo issue – very little is made of football's potential for treatment. Football, Madness and Me follows the lives of three members of teams from the Positive Mental Attitude League, in which every players suffers from a mental health problem. The documentary explores how, with the help of coaches and occupational therapists, football can be used as a tool to build confidence and self-esteem.
