AC Milan in 1994 Champions League final

icon barcapass24 April ~ Barcelona's 4-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final last night was their worst result in Europe for 16 years. In 1997 they lost by the same scoreline to Dynamo Kiev but it is the 4-0 defeat to AC Milan in the final three years earlier that is most memorable. Barcelona were the favourites going into the game and faced a Milan team missing, for various reasons, Marco van Basten, Gianluigi Lentini, Franco Baresi, Alessandro Costacurta, Florin Raducioiu, Jean-Pierre Papin and Brian Laudrup. Still, Fabio Capello's team put in an outstanding performance to win the trophy for the fifth time.
