THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

19 April ~ The Conference season comes to an end on Saturday and Stockport County must win away at title-chasing Kidderminster to have any hope of avoiding a drop into regional football. The club spent five seasons in the second tier from 1997 and shared the division with Manchester City in three of those, losing to their neighbours only once. Here they win at a packed Maine Road against a City team rising from the third tier to the Premier League in two years. While City are now champions and prepare for a second FA Cup final in three years, County face trips to Workington and Vauxhall Motors.
