From WSC 296, October 2011

wsc2964 April ~ Paris Saint-Germain have threatened legal action against Marseille's Joey Barton after the midfielder speculated that PSG's Thiago Silva may be transexual on his Twitter account on Wednesday. The Champions League quarter-finalists released a statement announcing that they "reserve the right to take any action they deem necessary" following the abusive tweets. Barton's use of social media was examined in WSC 296, in October 2011, as he sought to engineer a transfer away from Newcastle. Mark Brophy suggested that he succeeded in "diverting focus from worries about the club overall onto endless discussion of himself".
