8 March ~ Barnsley travel across the Pennines this weekend to face Manchester City in an FA Cup quarter-final. It is the tenth time the South Yorkshire club have reached this stage of the competition in their history – the won it in 1912. In 1961, then in Division Three, they travelled top-flight Leicester City for a place in the semi-finals. After a 1-1 draw the replay had to be played on a weekday at Oakwell, as the stadium had no floodlights. Leicester eventually won 2-1.
