icon lech7 March ~ Lutz Pfannenstiel, a now-retired German goalkeeper, played for 25 clubs in 12 countries on all six FIFA-recognised continents. His career included a false imprisonment for match-fixing in Malaysia, reportedly stealing a penguin and keeping it in his bath in New Zealand and being declared dead on the pitch while playing for Bradford Park Avenue – before miraculously resuscitating. Now his team, Global United, are trying to organise the first close-to-regulation match in the Antarctic, as David Dodds explains on In Bed With Maradona.
