THE HALF DECENT FOOTBALL MAGAZINE

The Dutch reaction to their opening defeat

12 June ~ Denmark's win over Holland has been the surprise of Euro 2012 so far. Holland dominated the game but didn't score, despite 32 attempts on goal. Denmark took their chance well, much to the annoyance of John Heitinga: "It was a miracle. They only made half a chance and scored. It's unbelievable, look how many chances we created. There is no way anyone can say Denmark deserved to win." Such travesties could soon be a thing of the past if the Dutch association have their way. Ernst Bouwes, editor of Orange Crush, looks at the Dutch reaction.
