Craig Brewster, who took over as Crawley caretaker manager over the weekend when Steve Evans moved to Rotherham, spent a portion of his playing days in Greece. His time with Ionikos was remembered in the Weekly Howl in July 2008. 

In the mid-1990s, several British players went abroad on Bosmans – free transfers at the end of contracts that were initially restricted to moves between countries. Most returned within a year or two but Craig Brewster was an exception.
