Coleman may not seem to be under as much pressure as Levein but his job is far from secure. A defeat againat Scotland (which will inevitably be followed by another defeat in Croatia) will see him leave. Whether he walks before he is pushed depends on what he can agree with the FAW.

'Scotland' and 'optimism' no longer belong in the same sentence. Or paragraph. Or article. Or country. Forget it. Even if we somehow managed to win in Wales and Belgium, we'd bollocks it up elsewhere. The closest any Scot will get to Brazil in 2014 will be rooting around for some pick and at the Inverurie market nut stall.
