Haha, great stuff, evilC - and so exactly the sort of music I imagine that you listen to.

The Frank Ocean LP is pretty good, Sweet life and Lost are my favourites, for anyone who feels like checking him out.

The new Sebadoh Ep Secret was a pleasant surprise, It made me dig out some of their old stuff anyway, which aint no bad thing. - I Don't Mind

The new Dan Deacon long-player is great. Like Lcd soundsystem met sufjan stevens at a warehouse.

I resisted for a while, but I'm really liking the album Mixed Emotions by Tanlines. Vaguely New Order-ish pop but with some subtle tropicalia or Afro-pop influence. Which could be really awful, but I think it's very good.

"Green Grass"

Thanks for that. I have given "Green Grass" the high distinction of being my New Jam.

Enjoying what I've heard from the Allah-Las, a Los Angeles band that is heavy on the 60s California psych and surf sound and who sound like Real Estate. Their videos make me think they're a little too self-conscious about their influences, but hopefully they grow and aren't just a pastiche.

Ha ha, it is truly the highest form of praise a band can get! (It is also currently my jam.)

That Allah-Las is incredibly retro/1960s garage rock-derivative, but they do it very well!

More genius from Mixed-Martial-Artist-turned-Buddhist-internet-dancing-sensation Genki Sudo, here.

In the spirit of I-know-it’s-old-but-I-just-heard-it, may I propose this shuffling/shambling Sergio Leone-like number.

Very Impressed with: Metric, Trailer Trash Traceys, Friends, Stew & The Negro Problem, Porcelein Raft, Disappears, Clives "Visage Musique Vol 1" freebie, Lower Dens "Tea Lights', Die Selektion, Vioent Tremors, The Present Motion, Public Service Broadcasting, Poolside, DVSNME,

The TTTs, Stew and The Negro Problem plus Clives freebie download especially.

Ive not listened to much new stuff recently with the exception of Tindersticks & Hawleys latest plus the Metronomy album. Its been mainly Thomas Leer & Robert Rental, Curtis Mayfield, OMD & Simple Minds "good period" Im afraid.

I've mentioned this lot before elsewhere on here, as I went to see them, last month, at their debut gig. This is their first proper video, made from footage of that excellent night. London Modular Alliance:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSrC9HBA-Ps

Hard to pin down favourite tracks, as their stuff is all-improvised - and on modular analogue synths, too - on the spur of the moment. (The audio in the video is overdubbed from some of their studio jam sessions.)

Hopefully they'll get some serious recognition, as I think they deserve it. (The individuals involved have each released music before, albeit quite 'underground'.)

I've been punishing the button for Cat Power's Cherokee, though the video's not much cop - looks more like random outtakes from a B-movie.

Some more...

The Orwells: they're kids (the oldest one is just 18, they already had songs out last year) from a suburb of Chicago. I know that it sounds like they'd be dreadful, and maybe we'll be sick of them if they get big, but I'm really impressed with their album.

The Orwells - "In My Bed"
The Orwells - "Never Ever"

I realize that no one ever put up the Chromatics in this thread, which is just criminal.

Chromatics - "Kill For Love"
Chromatics - "At Your Door"

I don't know anything about the band Tennis, but I like this song:

Tennis - "Origins"

And I'm enjoying the new Hot Chip. A few of the songs on the album are clear standouts for me.

Hot Chip - "Flutes"
Hot Chip - "Motion Sickness"

I'm hugely impressed by the new album from medieval folk-psych-metal types Hexvessel, entitled 'No Holier Temple'. These pagans have some of the best tunes.

Hexvessel - Dues To The Dolmen
