TOPIC: Adam Ant gigs

I'd rather burst my own eardrums with a rusty nail - let alone pay good money - than see Adam Ant live.

Not fussed about seeing him myself, but some people expressed interest in some US dates.

Edited: no longer the case.

Update: Adam currently touring US, LA and Vegas so far, tonight San Diego, going down well. UK tour in November, although it seems like he's not stopped here, having done several festivals.

Lots of stamina, eh.

I've got my eye on the August 20th date (noticing that he's playing the same venue he was scheduled to play when he got sick). I hope I can make it, family events may prevent me from going though.

He does appear to be working hard. I hope he can keep it up.

He played the Isle of Man tonight, and .. it went well. "Awesome", from my man on the spot. All his gigs are going well at the moment so fingers crossed for your date in August.

I am over the moon. The older stuff I used to hate "Red Scab", "Physical", "Car Trouble" and "Zerox" sounded great tonight but that was because they were rocked up. The new stuff sounded great and the hits were, of course, awesome.

10 years ago, I didn't think he would be alive (or out of jail), let alone on stage. A year ago, I didn't think he would tour. For him to do an outstanding 2 hour set was astonishing.

He's 12 years older than me, in pretty good shape and his voice wasn't bad. I am well pleased.

There's a nice little video clip of John Doran interviewing Mr Ant on The Quietus site.

There were (elsewhere) some beautiful pictures of him with his teenage daughter, taken on her birthday a couple of weeks ago.

All is positive and happy there, and I'm starting to believe in karma (and wish I was a better screenwriter/playwright).

He's in Leicester tonight.

I keep hearing Capt. Sensible singing "well, hello Adam, where've you been ?" in my mind's ear... in a good way, like..

Adam was FANTASTIC last night, absolutely top form.

The Roundhouse was packed. It's a special venue for him, and it was the 35th anniversary of a gig he played there supporting XRay Spex, so he dedicated the show to Poly.

Utterly brilliant, and a good mix of punk /Dirk era songs, pop hits and new songs. One cover (Get It On).
