TOPIC: China's impending economic collapse

posted 27-09-2012 14:30
Can they make people spend some of their domestic savings?
posted 27-09-2012 21:13
Not really. Savings are high because there's no medicare, crap pensions and the cost of education to attend to. Forcing them to spend would put a lot of people at risk. Or, rather, it would make a lot of people feel vulnerable (and hence tetchy). The CPC doesn't like tetchiness.

I hope China doesn't collapse before the end of my Open University International Development course, it would pretty much make a nonsense of the whole module.

Zero Hedge, Gramsci?

Your apocalyptic view on the Euro has suddenly become much clearer.

Someone should tell him that it's not the South Morning China Post, too.

Well, I hope China doesn't collapse before the end of my contract here, it would pretty much make a nonsense of the whole emigration.

My new flat's in the middle of the being-built Yinzhou CBD business district here in Ningbo, so will be an interesting perspective if nothing else.

I thought this was perfectly clear months ago.
