The right-wing base will eat it up, probably. If anything, Romney's backtracking or apology would be more likely to turn them off than the original comments.
For the average undecided voter, however, I'd guess the substance, such as it is, of his speeches is less likely to affect their vote than a more general impression that he's screwing things up. Most voters care more about the economy than foreign relations, but if he's perceived as incompetent or bumbling or wimpy on this trip, those voters will be less likely to trust him on the economy.
