TOPIC: The WTF? Thread

Home-grown Nazis in Peru.

Henry Ford's antisemitic text The International Jew and Hitler's Mein Kampf, both discovered in a secondhand book market, became the inspiration of his life when he was a teenager. Since then he seems to have swallowed every antisemitic conspiracy theory going – and invented a few of his own.

He claims to have carried out research that reveals Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt, Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, and Abimael Guzmán, the leader of Peru's Shining Path terror group, all had Jewish roots. He even claims that Francisco Pizarro – the illiterate goatherd who led Spain's brutal conquest of Peru – was also Jewish. "The Jew Pizarro and his band of genocidal Jews killed millions of native Peruvians in their mission to possess our gold," he said. He feel particularly aggrieved because of his own Inca heritage, he claims. He shares his second surname with the Inca emperor Mayta Cápac.

There's still a few Arby's around Baltimore, I can think of 3. And one down in Laurel too. But I don't know how much longer they can stand the Wawa and Sonic invasions that have recently taken place.

I still can't decide whether this is really funny, or quite sad. Or both. Probably both.

Wasn't this exact gag an integral part of "Bean-The Movie" or whatever it was called?

I prefer the restored version.

The original is trite. Christ as hedgehog is a product of vision.

At the supermarket yesterday I saw ready to freeze ice cubes, buy them and then pop them in the freezer, how fucking lazy are you to buy them? They were not cheap either, the equivalent of a pound for three trays.

That's the biggest WTF moment for me on this thread, to be honest. "Ready to freeze ice cubes"? Holy shit. The world is truly a fucked up place.

He means bottled water. Right? He's GOT to mean bottled water. Do you mean bottled water, AE?

I buy bags of ice because they're a lot more convenient than ice cube trays (and as they're not tap water they don't leave a scum on the top of your drink.)
But they're already frozen. How on earth do you have ready to freeze ice cubes?

I am imagining pre-filled ice trays.

But how do you get them home?

(actually just realised that they probably have some film or stuff over the top, and you don't have to carry your bag really, really carefully, but there you go)

Not sure if this is what AE meant, but I've seen plastic reusable "ice cubes" that you freeze and put in drinks. To avoid ice cubes melting, I guess. I've never seen anyone use them, just one of those unnecessary "convenience" items.

Ice cubes from regular tap water leaves "a scum" in your drink? That must be some awful water system you have where you live.

Ever read about the bagged ice mafia. They freeze out the competition.

I say, they freeze out....ah...just read it.
