If you use the "Reply" button, as opposed to "quick Reply"' you will see an image button that puts the codes in for you.

Alternatively, you can type "{img}" {/img}" without the quotation marks and using square brackets instead of proper ones.

In either case, you will need the URL for the photo, in either jpg or gif format, to insert between the two image codes.

The image link always puts an extra "" term in, for some reason. As I guess you've found, you need to highlight that and then paste over the top, rather than copying and pasting your url directly into the insert image box.
