Help ! Off to Lisbon and wanted some advice on how to purchase tickets for the Derby game at Sporting in December. Any chance or is it a case of purchasing one through an expensive booking agency ?

When I've been to Sporting, it's just been a case of registering on their website, buying the tickets online and then collecting them from the ticket office at the stadium on the day of the game. Not sure whether things would be different for a game v Benfica, though.

Thanks for the reply. Good idea to register with the club. I have sent them emails but so far no replies ( not surprising considering it was in English ).

Hi stevie. Main thing is that the game won't go on sale until 6 weeks before, absolute maximum.

Beyond that, Portuguese football fans are a fickle bunch, and Sporting fans are even fickler. If Sporting are on a good run come December, the game could well be sold out to members and their companions only. However, Sporting haven't been on a good run come December for a decade or so, so you'll probably be able to get tickets from the website a week before the game.
