More power to yer elbow, Sir Kettle. Looks like I'm now following the Bromley Contingent who scraped a last-minute winner at home to Worcester.

Ossett Albion actually lost 4-1, so I'm now stuck with nasty BPA.

Not for long - as Kryvbas Gripper Rih already had them, you can have one of the clubs in the first round draw. But you can't choose until that draw has been made.

Getting tricky now. I can stick with Guisely and wait for Rogin and Mumpo to jump first, or I can get out before them. High-stakes chicken.
posted 21-10-2012 03:31
Certainly is. I am inclined to forfeit my paltry 21 points and pick anew, since there would otherwise be 4 or 5 of us riding on Gloucester City which just doesn't feel right.
posted 21-10-2012 09:49
I can't dump Guiseley - I picked them up in round two when they beat Bamber Bridge. I now need them to heroically go out in the second round proper to a club someone else has got, so I can immediately adopt Liverpool when the third round proper draw's made.

Back of the net!

thanks for all this Kettle

Cheers Kettle, I'll stick with Hereford, should be a spicy derby against Shrewsbury.

Just remind me- I know it's been covered earlier but I got confused- does choosing a new club cost all your points, or half, or what?
posted 21-10-2012 20:35
Can I nip in and take Carlisle United then?

I decided to forego that administrative headfuck, so no points are being lost for adopting a new club.

Wycombe Wanderers for me please Kettle, particularly in light of the rule update!

It's no longer a monster, it's either a behemoth, a dreadnought or a leviathan.
posted 21-10-2012 22:06
C'mon Cambridge City, oh please oh please.

I feel that there should be addendum to the rules that if you get stuck with Franchise you should be able to pick a new club because you have to have a real one.

(Assuming that nobody is going to have the chutzpah to pick them voluntarily.)

Smart move. How about having two winners - the points table, and the "fair play" prize for the highest score without switching?
posted 22-10-2012 08:57
Damn- I was going for Carlisle but I've been beaten to it. In that case I'll go for Sheffield United please, for no better reason than dim memories of Currie and Woodward. And a buxom young lady embracing Tony Agana on the bench one time when we were playing there.

Can I have Stevenage (Borough) please? Have they achieved much since pipping Kingsbury Town to the 85-86 Isthmian Second Division North?
