TOPIC: Transfer Rumours and Realities Summer 2012

Manchester probably is boring for a footballer.

What sort of team are PSG planning on putting out next season? An attacking one, presumably.

Manchester (the city) does seem to have an image problem among footballers. Didn't Tevez come out with something similar? Or was that about the weather? I'd have thought Manchester would have everything necessary to entertain a young lad. I mean, it's not as if Lucas is likely to be a regular at the Louvre, is it?

I don't think so, but the brain has an amazing capacity to block out trauma, doesn't it?

It says "Il Principino" above the picture of Aquilani. I assume that means "Warrior" or something.

Edit: actually it means "the little prince". Hmmm.

Maybe that's what he was nicknamed at his former club. Or maybe that's what fans of his former club tricked them into thinking his nickname was.

Tevez said there were only two restaurants in town. I think he meant both Bem Brazils, the daft cunt.

If Lucas likes Paris that much he can fucking fly there in his own jet given the money he'll get paid, the big prannock.

When they finish unfurling the banner, you'll see it actually says DIV: A hero will rise.

It's not just footballers, Manchester has an image problem amongst complete idiots regardless of profession.

Kevin doyle had some interesting things to say about footballers and cities. it was essentially that it doesn't really matter who you play for, as every english city is basically the same, same shops, same types of pubs, and it doesn't matter really because you're living in a nice house outside the city, and you're not allowed do anything 'interesting' anyway.

maybe he's just too reasonable to be a top footballer or something.

Kevin Doyle was such a fantastic striker until Manager Mick got his hands on him and coached all the skill, tactical nous, natural instinct and will to play out of him.

Aston Villa have taken a second player from Feyenoord in the shape of Ron Vlaar on the same day that James Collins was bundled out the door to West Ham.

I know little about Vlaar other than the fact he is a 27 year old Dutch international centre half, so I would be interested in hearing what Eredivisie viewers think.

Ron Vlaar is one of those Eredivisie "hard man" statuesque centre backs who, as soon as they leave the Eredivisie, get shown up for not being hard at all and have nothing to fall back on. See also Andre Ooijer, Wilfried Bouma, Kevin Hofland and Johnny Heitinga.

The talented defender at Fnoord, who has been making Vlaar's job easy, is Stefan de Vrij.

Heitinga's done extremely well at Everton, to the extent that the fans voted him their player of the season last year.

Kevin Doyle is a journeyman striker who had a purple patch lasting a few months, five or six years ago, and then couldn't live up to it after that, just like Carlton Cole and Andy Carroll.

He started going down the pan during Reading's relegation season (in which he scored six goals, including penalties) and never recovered. He's won 50 caps and managed 10 goals; the strongest international teams he's ever scored against are Georgia and Slovakia. That sort of opposition, and the Championship, are his true level. He's just not that good.

He was nicknamed that at Roma, after Francesco Totti - 'il Principe'.

Bellamy to the Redbirds, WTF?

It looks like any further additions to the Liverpool squad will be financed by the sale of Daniel Agger. He's a good player, but he's injured nearly 50% of the time. Manchester City are interested, but Liverpool are holding out for £20M plus.

Anthony Gerrard for around £350k. Any Cardiff fans care?

I don't think there are any Cardiff fans left on here.

There are still Cardiff fans here. But as Antepli initimated, Bellamy is not joining Cardiff, he is joining some Welsh Dragon South-East Asian franchise effort.
