Seems to me that's only going to encourage members of the opposing crowd to use laser pens or similar.

First impression is favourable, even allowing for the massive Fila logo on the arms (not visible by this shot of the evergreen Goodison). I also like the fact that there is a collar and a nice blue trim along the collar and front, with just the right amount of piping too.

Great to see a collar, afraid I can't see past the stupid bloody Fila on the shoulders/sides, hopefully in reality it is a bit better. (At least it's white on white)
It bugs me that the Wirral logo gets higher every year, possibly to rise above the Council's increasing debt level...

New Millwall kit:

That's nasty. A really ugly cheap looking shirt. Macron make some truly appalling kits.

Of the 92 clubs, wonder what's the % of shirts with betting sponsors?

Odds anyone?

It's getting up there.

Wouldn't surprise me if it is more than a third of the top two divisions. My sense is that things get more local as one goes further down the pyramid.

The Millwall kit is horrific. It isn't even the right colour.

They've used navy blue for the past couple of years. And, if you go back far enough, it's close to their original shade.

Ghastly design though. The trend for arbitrary cut-outs is not a pleasant one.

Hadn't realised that.

It looks like a bad Raith Rovers kit to me.

The white (away?) shirt is 1990 Olympique Marseille.

What is "Gilder Honda?"

So what's the deal w/ WIRRAL? Is it a county or region where Rovers play? If so, is it even considered a sponsor? Like the Yankees having THE BRONX plastered on their jersey?

EDIT: Or is it the Wirral newspaper/media outlet?

It's the Borough Council of the wider area where we play, the Wirral Pennisula.

Longest running sponsorship in England since 1989 and 3rd in Europe, though increasingly (and rightly) under threat as a poor use of taxpayers money.

Thanks Baptiste - are there other clubs that have their Borough Council as sponsor?

Wirral is a cool looking word - I can easily see it as the name of a snack food or sport drink - "a whirl w/ Wirral!"

Southampton needs red and white stripes. Don't like their new kit at all.

Why on earth have Southampton done that? Is this one for the "one-colour kit conspiracy theory" thread?

Bury and Stockport at the moment, there may be others out there.

The bizarre thing is the red one is the Southampton home kit, the white one would make little, but more, sense.

I'll give Southampton credit for a kit w/ relative simplicity, but I've never like pinstripes (seemed a must for most teams in much of the 80's).

Combining two recent subjects, the only Millwall kit my Millwall-loathing wife will allow me to buy is the kit from the year they were sponsored by Lewisham Council.
