newcastle's new away shirt has been "leaked", and the big news is that puma have taken a definite step towards designing something almost tolerable:

there's also a keeper's top that looks like something peter shilton or john burridge would have worn during their slow mooch around the lower leagues:

The away would be quite nice without the silly shoulder motif.

Are people freaking that it's "red"?

The colours are reminiscent of the 1995-96 away kit, which they may remember fondly

that's my main concern - it makes it look like the uniforms from star trek: the next generation (something picked up on by my girlfriend, i promise). i don't like the cheapo iron-on badge with a big white border around it, either

in my incredibly limited scouring of the internet, i've seen more people talking about the potential for people to kick-off about it being "red" than actual people kicking of about it being "red". as well as the glorious piece that jimmy bignutz has posted, we also had this about five years ago:

so it's no biggie.

Is there something shameful and unmanly about liking Star Trek: The Next Generation?

Asking for a friend.

How could there be? James T. Kirk himself dared to go wherever he went wearing a Wolves shirt.

Ha ha! Meanwhile Bones and Spock wore Everton shirts, causing tensions with Uhura and Scotty, who supported Liverpool. (Although maybe Scotty was Aberdeen.)

That Newcastle goalkeepers shirt is magnificent. I give it at least seven thumbs up.

The new Liverpool shirt will be announced in one week. It's gonna be interesting.

Rumours abound tonight that our Malaysian owners will announce next week that we're changing the club colours to red.

I am generous enough not to kill your 'slow build anticipation" elsewhere.

It's a bit like the very nice current Brighton one.

Oldham's new home kit. Nice and simple; I like it.

I'm guessing it's going to be red. Therefore, how interesting can you get?

Now if they changed it to blue, THAT would be interesting.

I think I'd probably be more OK with that (although I realise I'm alone in this)

Forest already had the Star Trek-a-like sewn up with this years away effort.

Someone better warn Vermaelen, Squillaci, Djourou, Mertesacker & Koscielny that there's to be NO on-pitch horseing around next season.

That is appalling. Blue trim on white socks? Bands around the sleeves? Blue collar? Seriously, what kind of fucking shit for brains moron dreamed up this fucking abortion? Arsenal's kit is a simple design. red shirt with white sleeves and collar, white shorts, red socks with white trim, or vice versa. It should be the easiest thing to do right, yet Nike find new and better ways to fuck it up each season. I'm not an Arsenal fan, but I'm quite prepared to get angry on their behalf when I see fucking monstrosities like this.
