When will the new season kick off?

After what happened this time around I am really looking forward to it.

I'd like to make sure we have the right number of teams. Anyone know someone who might be interested in joining?

We could try making a new thread for a recruitment drive? seeing as it'll be a new season anyway...

Is there a new thread?

A 4-0 home win to start with, not bad at all.

What a ding-dong battle over at Tompkins Square. Also a splendid result for the Blizzard Beetles or whatever they are called. Promoted, then first game up dealing a stomach-punch 1-0 defeat to Cardiff.

Stomach punch 1-0? They absolutely brutalised us, and we were very lucky to escape with just a one goal defeat.

The king is dead, long live the king? Is this the case for the Dragons of Cardiff while the Dragons of Antep rise?

My squad are looking a little too much like Hornville Legends. It'll be interesting to see whether they can withstand the youthful exuberance of the league's newbies tonight.

Average age of squads in OTF:

Zeugmaspor 26
East Village Idiots 27
Ealing Commoners 28
Arctic Insects 25
Steaua Bridge 27
Bournemouth Rejects 30
Wharfedale Generals 28
AFC Purgatory 26
Cardiff Dragons 27
Beijing Internet Police 27

Not sure what to read into this bar some sides have some right old codgers playing for them.

Mirroring this for Division 1:

Eglintoun Eagles: 28
Beachcombers Utd: 27
Hornville: 27
Victorious Secret: 26
Completely Unfamiliar: 25
Fourth Lanark: 25
Heffron Hotspur: 25
Komarno Chameleons: 24
Nieuwegein Kneebiters: 24

A slightly lower average average age than in OTF (25.7 vs 27.1), for what it's worth.

I've really neglected my youngsters for the past couple of seasons as I fought to 1) win the league (failed) and 2) avoid relegation (failed). Hence I've half a dozen teenagers who aren't developing.

It almost seems futile to shoot for promotion as I'd be even more off the pace in the OTF Division next season.

My latest youth recruit (5 bars) is valued at 9 million. I threw him in at the deep end and he performed at 7 bars in last night's game.

Heffron will surely be launching an inquest after that debacle last night.

How are things going in the top flight, by the way? (sniff).

Agewise I've got a couple of codgers I can't bin as my squad's too thin to sack anyone, and no-one will buy the older chaps. Having said that, I need to get at least a young striker & midfielder in (well any sort of midfielder really, I've only got 5) soonish, but the transfer system is still fucking bonkers as ever, which means it's difficult to get a deal done unless you pay over the odds for someone. I haven't had even a four bar-er from the youth academy for yonks, I'm going to stop giving them money soon.

OTF-wise it's Zeugmaspor at the top, followed rather surprisingly with us in second, though this situation is unlikely to continue very far I would imagine.

Top of the league and team of the month for the second month in a row but still AFC Purgatory prove unbeatable.

The East Village Idiots are becoming a bit Liverpool-esque.

Six games played in the OTF and only a point separates the top four. Next week we have a game at home to Cardiff Dragons, I guess they will be out for revenge after we scuppered their bid for four titles in a row.

Is there any reason why the Komarno Chameleons players appear in orange shirts in the Xperteleven lineup?

(And yeah, I know there are bigger issues facing humanity).

Well, probably.
