I saw a TV programme once which had a piece on it about the match between England and Argentina at St-Etienne in the 1998 World Cup. Jim Rosenthal told the interviewer of how he had been standing there watching the match, when he suddenly became aware that he was coming under a bombardment of abuse and missiles from the Argentine supporters that were immediately under the commentary gantry. He looked around to see Wright, draped in a flag, leaning over above the Argentine supporters, flicking Vs and generally being abusive towards them.
