19 December ~ Stephen Ireland's future at Aston Villa is uncertain – which is hardly surprising given he arrived at the club when they were between managers. But the fans haven't taken to him and Gerard Houllier appears happy to let him go. Ireland first came to prominence with the bizarre story of his grandmothers, as Pat Daly reported in WSC 249 (November 2007)
