Gloomy times for Paul Hart at QPR

13 January ~ Flavio Briatore made his return to Loftus Road last night, fresh from overturning his lifetime ban from Formula One. "Unimpressed" best described his expression as his side made it 14 FA Cup games without a win, a run including defeats to Luton, Grimsby and the "mighty Vauxhall Motors". Manager Paul Hart was again booed by a sparse crowd of 5,780 as they lost to Sheffield Utd. However, as the Sun and Mirror were quick to point out, X Factor twins Jedward were on hand to boost the numbers slightly. The Sun's Vikki Orvice described Hart's ordeal as worse than "being forced to watch the tone-deaf duo", a criticism that is hard to disagree with based on Hart's own evaluation and backing in the Telegraph and Daily Mail of the match being "a disaster". Adel Taarabt played the moody teenager role for the night by sulking through the second half after being told he couldn't take the penalty he had won. On the messageboards, fed-up fans were unanimous in calls for him to simply "grow up", while others called for Tottenham to take him back. Chris Hasker
