Retail revolution at Eastlands

23 October 2009 ~ The full horror of what Manchester City are mutating into is demonstrated in this press release from a company called Synovate, "the world's most curious people". With the help of their business partners, City will be "in the premier spot to have the right people in the right place at the right time in order to manage fans' expectations and to deliver unrivalled shopper experience in the footballing world". There's much more but you'll have to look for yourselves while we have a lie down.

So, City have asked some characters who use words like synergy and paradigm to do a bit of market research on customer numbers in the club shop so that they can make sure there are enough staff on the tills when its busy ? big deal. If they get it right then I won?t have to stand in a queue for 20 minutes every time I want to buy something. It?s not exactly Bert Trautman playing with a broken neck, but neither is it the death of football as we know it. There?s only one thing worse than jumping on the ?City are destroying the beautiful game? bandwagon, and that using a non-story like this to do it. I expected better of WSC. Poor, very poor.

Interesting point, Mr. Baloney, but if those devils on the red side of town had done it...
