On a recent trip back home to Sunderland, Ed found a stash of late-1980s WSC back issues. This thrilling discovery was a reminder of a time when, despite being seven and not really understanding what was going on, the magazine was bought for him by his educationally minded father. This has seemed to do more good than harm however and so on leaving university in 2004 and noticing a vacancy at WSC it resembled a sensible choice. Initially looking after databases and telephones his job has since broadened out and though still first port of call for subscription problems, he now helps out on the editorial side and contributes to WSC on both paper and online. Ed still supports Sunderland but has lived in London since 2000 and refuses to be intimidated by the malted-milk-biscuit-loving Stoke Newington mice. Articles
