Mike Whalley is a Manchester-based freelance journalist, born in Stockport and raised in Preston. His journalistic achievements include interviewing Bernard Manning's son in a toilet cubicle, and presenting a local radio football phone-in on the night it had no callers. He contributed his first article to WSC in 2005, and also writes on football for the Manchester Evening News and the Sunday Express.
