Which is why I think they won't nuke anybody. Unless they really are insane, a possibility that can't be totally discounted.

In this week's deeply depressing Israel/Palestine news:The sole purpose of non-Jews is to serve Jews, according to Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the head of Shas’s Council of Torah Sages and a senior Sephardi adjudicator.

“Goyim were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world – only to serve the People of Israel,” he said in his weekly Saturday night sermon on the laws regarding the actions non-Jews are permitted to perform on Shabbat.

This is just another step along the road to apartheid. The fact that Israel has to all intents and purposes pulled off the neat trick of annexing the West Bank without actually doing so, by building more and more settlements, evicting palestinians, creating de facto bantustans, means that Israel now is no different from South Africa in the 80s. Palestinians who live in pre67 Israel are the equivalent to "Coloureds" while those who don't have Israeli citizenship are "Black".

For ages I was ambivalent about the BDS movement, but I am now 100% behind it. Israel needs to be boycotted in just the way the South Africa was. I urge everyone else to get involved too - see here for more details bdsmovement.net/

It's encouraging to see countries like Sweden and Ireland on board with the boycott of the tourism conference in Jerusalem.

Very shameful treatment in France of the local BDS activists, this would have never happened under Chirac.
